We've been pretty big fans of Lovett ever since we filmed a concert with him at The Phoenix last year. He's a talented artist whose ambition easily exceeds the norm, as seen in his series of video collaborations with film directors for his album, Highway Collection.

But the fourth installment, "Ghost of Old Highways," has been bigger than the rest. Sprung from the eponymous song, "Ghost of Old Highways" became a script and then fully blossomed into a short film. The film, directed by Dan Bush and starring Lovett himself, is a visually stunning Civil War-era epic that speaks to the song's themes of personal darkness and escaping from it. Shot in the North Carolina mountains, "Ghost of Old Highways" has been making the film festival rounds and racking up the awards -- eight in total for Best Film, Best Score, Best Cinematography, the list goes on.
