  • Watch: Green Day Trailer for Uno!
Oakland natives,Green Day, have come a long way since their blue-haired punk days. Thinking back to Dookie, it's hard to think the same band will be releasing an album as ambitious as Uno!. The record is part of an album triology, which the band plans to release over a five month period. Uno! is scheduled to come out on September 25th followed by Dos! and Tre! tentatively in November and January. Green Day is a popular band, but that is a lot of music to release in a sort period of time and isn't quality supposed to trump quantity?

Green Day most recent records have leaned more toward political commentary than punk. Their past two studio albums 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot showed signs that our beloved punk rockers had grown up once and for all. Still with a broadway show, several live albums under their belts as well as a movie in the works, Green Day has proven that they can be successful inside and outside the studio. So where does this mysterious trilogy fit in all of this? Will Uno! be a punk album or a political one? Well whichever way it goes, we're still excited.
