With a new album released digitally through a subscription service, Portland pysch-rockers
The Dandy Warhols are planning a North American tour in the fall. For those that can't wait, they've got a few dates in June close to home... but the rest of the states will have to wait for the fall. Pre-sale starts on June 21st, or the 17th if you are a member of the fan-club subscription service. Or the 19th if you buy them on the website. Anyway...
The new album,
Earth To The Dandy Warhols is due for a physical release on August 19th, just in time for the crew to kick off their tour. They will be supported by LA's
Darker My Love. As for the Dandy's, they are releasing their sixth full-length once again on their own label,
Beat the World Records. The sound is supposed to take the group to a new level, one which surpasses tracks like "Bohemian Like You" and "Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth," two which established them as musical icons. Oh, and there was that time that they took some ad revenue and bought a quarter city block in Portland to use as a film-set, recording studio, and party headquarters. That was pretty "icon" of them.
Their music has been featured in numerous TV shows and movies, so if you're unfamiliar, you've probably already heard a thing or two. Regardless, check them out when they come to your town. -
