Missing some dreamy vocals? Well,
Anna Ternheim -
a Baeble favorite - is back.
Verve Forecast is set to release Ternheim's third album,
Leaving on a Mayday, on August 11th. Though the Swedish artist's two previous releases (
Separation Road and
Somebody Outside), were smash hits in her homeland, reaching platinum status, and taking home multiple Grammy awards (in Sweden),
Leaving on a Mayday strikes a different chord this time around. Produced by
Peter, Bjorn, and John's
Bjorn Yttling, the album packs 10 relaxing and lucid tracks that entered the charts at #1, was voted both "Album of the Year" and "Female Artist of the Year" at the '09 Grammys, and reached Gold status in all but a few weeks back home.
A few more album details. Though raw and refreshing, the album features both
Steve Shelley (drummer of Sonic) and guitarist
Matt Sweeney (whose worked on Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond records).Ternheim will be promoting the album with live shows in New York and throughout Europe this summer. While we're not quite sure what to expect from Ternheim this time around, check out this mesmerizing solo performance at the Bowery Ballroom last Spring. -
