Over the weekend, Disclosure
surprised fans at their very own, Wild Life festival
in Brighton City, UK with the new track, Boss. Unlike most of the songs on their last album, Caracal
, Boss reinforced the age-old relationship between pop and electro that so many of-the-moment artists are currently exploring. The new song off of their forthcoming EP Moog for Love
(released in the UK tomorrow at noon), is packed with building, high-energy beats and manipulated vocals. The track almost sounds as if Django-Django and Hot Chip got together and had a love child. Imbued with femme fatale-type themes and an emphasis on young love, the neon visuals featured at some of their latest shows along with the hook's content, shes the boss and Im an old romantic doing favors/baby I like you all underscore a similar sensuality. "Boss" carries the catchy-as-fuck vibe the duo is known for, but without the long winded, wordy lyrics representative of their earlier hits.
The duo is expected to play a show in Queens, NY on June 18th with the borough's very own Mobb Deep, along with Justin Jay, Dusky and Anderson Paak & the Free Nationals, followed up by a Las Vegas show during EDC week. We expect that the new track, along with others to come off of Moog for Love
will be performed at both the NY and LV shows, making for many more summer hits to come.
