Four-piece band, Bearstronaut flawlessly blend the rock, pop and electric genres in a way that feels brand new and not remotely overwrought. Coming off the release of their debut EP Telecoast (June 10), the electronic-rock group is already back with the explosive new single, "Tropic of Cancer."
"We wanted big sing-along choruses over light, airy soundscapes...The sound is pretty much modern dance music in a rock-band context. It's very song oriented, played as a mix of studio tech and live feel. Even though we use a lot of electronics, there's definitely a very human element to it." - Dave Martineau (singer/guitarist)
As masters of cinematic synth, Bearstronaut draw inspriation from vintage '80s soundscapes to create a dance-ready 3-minute banger that hits head-on, bursting into a barrage of smooth melodies, deep percussion, and twinkling, electronic echoes. Having shared bills with the likes of Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, and Chance the Rapper, The Boston natives are on the way up with yet another stylistically layered, dance banger.
