Slipping into this sweltering slice of dream pop from Trails & Ways feels a bit like wading through clear as clear can be seawater, toes dragging across perfect white sand, sweat trickling down the small of the back, and a warm hazy glow coating a breadth of exposed skin. In other words, Paradise..."Como Te Vas" sounds a little something like Paradise. It's not the kind of thing one would expect to hear from a band that calls Oakland California home, but singers Emma Oppen and Keith Brower Brown had to jet set to Spain and Brazil to find it. On this seriously slurpee track you can hear it. Not only did the language rub off on the band, but a variety of tropical sounding elements including bells, claves, hand claps, finger snaps, and the rhythmic sampled vocals that are at the heart of the song. The track packs the perfect vibe to kick off our Single Serving column, and has us more than a little excited for the band's forthcoming album, Trilingual.
Loyal Baeble followers will also be rewarded with a full-length concert captured during the band's appearance at Hype Hotel, just a few short weeks down the road. Dig into a preview below.
