  • Call Me Maybe Countdown
With one of the catchiest songs of the summer, we're guessing Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" has been lodged into your brain on a number of occasions over the last few weeks. Admit it! What makes it so inescapable is the multiple mediums at which it's been hitting. Not only has the song managed to travel everywhere, viral lip-synching videos are never ending. And to think, it all started with a bored, baseball team from Harvard. Since those brainy ballplayers decided to post their moves on youtube, quite a few famous folks have joined in on the fun, each adding their own unique spin. Here are the five best covers/lip-syncs we've seen so far. We're guessing we'll have to do a follow-up post in a few weeks because this trend is showing no signs of slowing down.

    5) Donald Trump & The Miss USA Girls
There's nothing too amazing about this video used as a promo for Trump's Miss USA Pageant. It's mostly just a bunch of pretty girls singing to the camera which, don't get me wrong, has its moments. Giving the video the push it needs to make the list is the three second cameo from the hair-do himself, Mr. Donald Trump. Butchering the words and delivering them with his classic 'you're fired' scold makes the cameo so contrasting that it's impossible not to enjoy. Not only does Trump not know the song, he has no idea how to let his hair down (for lack of a better term) and have fun.

    4) Jimmy Fallon Collaboration
Teaming up with Jepsen herself, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots use classroom instruments to come in at number four on our...list a fun and original rendition that maintains the song's catchy innocence. Fallon and his crew really deliver here. Not only do they actually perform the song, they also create their own arrangement on less-than-average instruments (note Questlove on the kazoo). We also fell for the way Fallon and Jepsen play back and forth laughing throughout the song.

    3) Ben Howard Cover
Taking a page from Fallon's book and covering the track, Ben Howard made his own moody version when he stopped into Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier this year. Slowing the song down and translating into something that's effortlessly his own, Howard manages to darken things a bit, but not so much as to lose Jepsen's original playfulness. It's the perfect blend that makes for a great cover and earns it a solid number three on our list.

    2) Obama
Easily the most original interpretation of the song, the people behind barracksdubs use some clever editing to deliver a rendition that scores #2 on our list. Striking a similar, hilarious accord as the folks over at Auto-Tune The News, the video here is just silly. Using clips from a variety of speeches, the editors manage to make our fine nation's president sing along to the song. Only in America...

    1) Beiber and Friends
Oh the joys of being young and beautiful in Hollywood. Justin Beiber and crew top our list with their dance party sing-along version of the catchy tune. The video embodies everything the song is about; having fun with friends, dancing like idiots, and singing at the top of your lungs (say, isn't that what Beiber does anyway?).
