This week we explored a few unique music videos that diverged from the usual preoccupations of our more explicitly sexual modern visual narratives. In layman's terms, we mean there was a whole lot less side-boob (unless you count the spliced-up Lady Gaga remix). Crack open a fresh can of Roundup: it's crisp, refreshing, and ends with My Morning Jacket being awesome. What more do you need?
Panda Bear - "Slow Motion"
A love letter to New York City written by Noah Lennox, better known by his cudley, endangered species pseudonym.
Starting to place our bets on how many kids go for the "goblin" eyes as a halloween costume. #swag?
Lady Judas - "Lady Gaga/Judas Priest Mashup by Wax Audio"
Although technically 99% recycled video, the song alone tops our weekly favs chart. As many noted, it's almost better than both the originals put together. But wait, isn't that exactly what it is?
Broken Social Scene - "Sweetest Kill"
It isn't very often that an indie rock music video churns multiple references to Dexter by the blogarazzi, but it's also not very often an indie rock music video contains almost no breasts. The jury is still out on which one we prefer.
My Morning Jacket - "Circuital (Live on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)"
A huge week for MMJ, big smash record, late night performances, and a headlining smash set at Bonnaroo tonight. These guys just kill it on stage, as evidenced by their titular performance seen here. Jim James beard is glorious.
