More good stuff coming out of Brooklyn, and it's no surprise. The borough seems to be a ripe breeding ground for music making. Joining the ranks of other infamous Brooklynites with a new album are the guys of
Takka Takka.
OK, you got us. They aren't really "new" (They've been around since 2004 and released an EP and an album already). But the new album,
Migration, is something to talk about. The music has been taken to new levels of cohesiveness. These guys were discovered touring around with
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but luckily have plenty of longenvity potential. Their new record shows this with some seriously well-written riffs (check out "The Takers"). We almost want to call it "intensely mellow." The album has many people buzzing, about it's diversity and development. Others have keenly referred to this as "Takka, post metamorphosis." Considering their previous work, we'd have to agree. We can't wait to see them come out of their cocoon.
Migration drops on July 29th. -
