Crossing The Rubicon,
The Sounds upcoming album, features eleven upbeat and refreshing songs that captivate the talent of the band. The Sounds, who debuted in 2002 with the album,
Living in America, are from the small southern Swedish city, Helsingborg. The five member band earned a notable spot in the Swedish music scene and a breakthrough spot in the American music scene as well with the release of their first album.
Dying To Say This To You, the second album released, continued to feature the quirkiness of the band, but also displayed a darker and edgier side of the band as well.
Following these two albums is the Sounds most refreshing album yet,
Crossing The Rubicon. The eleven song album shows the band's ability to capture and combine a variety of different sounds in an eclectic manner. One of the many energetic songs presented on the forthcoming album is "Dorchester Hotel" (grab a free download below). The unique voice of vocalist,
Maja Ivarsson, and the beat behind this song combine brilliantly to create a catchy, dance anthem. The upbeat tempo and electro dance beats are also undeniably present in the Sounds first single off the album, "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake," which they performed earlier this year on Last Call with Carson Daly.
The Sounds tour all summer long with No Doubt and will also be headling their own tour in the Spring and Fall to promote
Crossing the Rubicon. Look for it on June 2nd, 2009. -
