In 2009,
Mumford and Sons took the world by surprise with their debut album,
Sigh No More. Suffices to say, we're all ready for their sophomore release, which the band officially announced this weekend at Pinkpop Music Festival in the Netherlands. A DJ for the Dutch radio station 3FM
tweeted out that the release date for Europe is slated for 9/24.
But that ain't the only thing the boys of Mumford and Sons have been up to. The band is touring Europe throughout the summer (see dates
here) and today, they announced a series of Gentleman of the Road Stopovers scheduled for August in the United States. The stopovers are one-day festivals in four locations -- Portland, ME, Bristol, VA/TN, Dixon, IL and Monterey,CA -- focusing on local communities and businesses. Mumford and Sons will be headlining with supporting acts like Grouplove, Gogol Bordello, and St. Vincent. See more details about the very Mumford and Sons-esque festivals
