Just kidding, folks. But the title of the new
Stars track definitely captures a great upbeat energy, even if it hints at being spurned. The radio edit of "Bitches In Tokyo" was released earlier this week, and it's a good blend of old school stars meet new school pop. And we like it.
The twinkle keyboard in the background is there, but subtle, as
Amy Millan swoons with her token soft vocals. The energy on this one is evident with driving guitars and a forward moving drum beat, on top of the signature Stars sounds in the background. The track comes fresh from being mixed by
Michael Braurer, whose credits include
Coldplay,
Rolling Stones,
Wilco,
Bruce Springsteen, and
The Bravery (not too shabby). Remember when the album came out last year on? Yeah, he did that too. That explains a lot.
Check out the track and check out
Stars when they roll through a town near you. -
