I went to Bonnaroo three years in a row. And after a disastrous first year where I ran out of water before the Red Hot Chili Peppers' headlining 2012 set (and thus nearly became fatally dehydrated), wore ill-fitting shoes that chafed my ankles so bad that they bled through my socks, and stupidly thought that because it was raining I didn't need to wear sunscreen (I was really dumb back in 2012), I learned to become a master of how to survive at music festivals. It may seem like common sense stuff but you quickly learn the high price of forgetting any single step once you wind up on festival grounds.
And so when I say that our friends at Slurpee know a thing or two about how to survive at a music festival, it's because I'm coming from a place of experience. They've put together a handy list of necessities, tips, and sage advice for anybody heading out for festival season this year (Sasquatch is just around the corner), and it's can't miss advice. Even a seasoned veteran like myself could use the occasional reminder that you can never have too much water on your person. And, of course, the right shoes are often the most important decision you'll make that weekend.
