The xx are close to releasing their sophomore album, which still is without a title, and some thrifty concert-goers have documented the trio playing some new material live in England. Hear five new songs from The xx, played last Friday night at the Battersea Art Center. While the new material doesn't seem to mark a large departure from their previous material, it's clear from these recordings that The xx are definitely growing as a group of songwriters. "Untitled New Track 3" clocks in at over seven minutes, and it's more expansive than anything that the young band has done before. While details about The xx's new album are still very abstract, these live recordings indicate that the trio is here to stay.
