After striking himself a pile of critical paydirt with his affectionate debut Ash Wednesday (XL Recordings), LA troubadour Elvis Perkins is celebrating part of the summer of 07 by hitting the twisted, broken roads winding wildly across America. Beginning June 11th on the muddy banks of the Potomic River, Perkins will take his Nick Drake/Leonard Cohen/Jeff Mangum evoking brand of literate folk music on a mighty cross-country romp.
For those interested in hearing Perkins stripped down to glorious acoustic simplicity, Baeble recommends you catch the first leg of the tour; a solo route charted with Joan Armatrading in support.
Prefer the more full bodied, accompanied version of Ash Wednesday? Perkins band Dearland will join him for the tail end of the trip
including stops at Lollapalooza, The Newport Folk Festival, and The Siren Festival. Full tour schedule below:
