Only a few more weeks until A$AP Rockys sophomore album is dropped, appropriately titled At.Long.Last.A$AP. Its been more than two years after his first album release and a lot has changed since then. A focus on his fashion presence, promotion of fellow rapper A$AP Ferg, and the untimely death of A$AP Mob cofounder and friend A$AP Yams have led to Rocky only appearing on a select group of tracks. But at long last, A$AP. He is trickling out new records including this gloriously trippy music video for the Danger Mouse produced track, "LSD."
Screen flares, over saturation, layered visual noise, and a particularly well done extended mirror shot showcase the collaborative direction of both Rocky himself and Dexter Navy. They offer a unique visual experience to highlight the drug scene that Rocky embodies. As much as Rocky might suggest that he's not into making love songs, the first half of the track is a heartfelt ballad to both his woman and his drugs. Before breaking down into a more familiar Rocky flow, absolutely murdering the Danger Mouse beat, he shows a softer side that we don't normally get to see. The album is showing a lot of variation with the few pieces we have seen already and Rocky seems confident with where he's taking the record.
