This is exactly how Friday night in Brooklyn should be: a high energy, jumping, dancing, action packed show at
Music Hall. When
Bishop Allen took the stage, I thought: these guys look like those kids in high school that nobody liked. Although I guess I should seek those kids out, because they totally rocked.
The weather on Friday night was really awful, but the rain spurts and chilly temperatures didn't stop the people from coming: this was a sold out show. And the crowd was totally into it for the entire set. There was even an impromptu mosh-pit in front of the stage. Founding members
Justin Rice and
Christian Rudder were present in full force, and the five-piece band rocked the classics as well as new tracks like "Click Click Click Click" off the most recent record
The Broken String . The best jam, however, was "Rain," another new one off the album. As Justin said, it was pretty appropriate.
Also, keep an eye out for
The Silent Years and
The War on Drugs, who both played some pretty decent opening sets. -
