Solar One, master of all things green (energy, education, the arts, etc.) presented the lineup for Citysol 2008, the only solar-powered music, art and advocacy festival in NYC. The lineup includes
The Dirty Projectors,
So Percussion and
Blitz the Ambassador, as well as many more.
Opening day, on Thursday, June 26th, will see punk act
Care Bears on Fire and NYC based hip-hop collaboration
The A-OK Collective. That's just the beginning of an eclectic line-up of indie rock, modern classical, hip-hop and world music. Many have performed in previous years incuding favorites like
Les Savy Fav,
Deer Tick,
Japanther, the members of
Antibalas,
OCDJ,
Menomena and many more. Coincidentally, Baeble was there last year, and shot the Les Savy Fav set. Check it out below.
And the best part is, the festival boasts a 100% solar powered stage. And in addition to the music, Citysol will host a Friday night stand-up comedy show, and put tons of local art on display on the site,at Solar One's East River-side venue in Stuyvesant Cove Park. THe festival runs from June 26th-29th. Be sure to check it out.
More information about the festival coming soon on the website (the site is still all about 2007). Keep checking back. -
