The Flaming Lips with just a touch of optimism sprinkled on top now and then, courtesy of
We're From Barcelona. The result must sound something like self proclaimed "rising pop stars and vintage swimwear connoisseurs"

Is it possible that Nashville will start to give us brand spanking new indie pop rock, instead of just another seven thousand

Kenny Chesney clones? Let's hope so, because these guys have some serious tunes. The vocals are huge on slower tracks like "Been Kept Up," which is a nice contrast to the incredible energy of tracks like "Shout," "The Sky is Falling," or "Be Your Man." Especially the latter is perfect fodder for, I hesitate to say it but we're all thinking it, a hipster dance-party. The bright palette of synth and guitars really nails the aesthetic of the all the other pop-rock out there, and I'd say these guys are headed for a bright future filled with clapping and sing-alongs.
