Though Loney Dear's Emil Svanngen has always weaved bits of synthetic and electronic elements into his music, his '09 effort Dear John employed a more deliberate approach than ever. In an interview with Baeble, Emil shares how his fascination with the possibility for texture influenced the album, as well as his shift from personal topics to a style of songwriting that more closely resembles storytelling. - David Pitz
