Wavves Video Game: As Drug-Fueled As You'd Expect

San Diego noise pop/surf-rock/purveyors of the drug culture Wavves have a video game now. You can play it over at Vice (of course). It plays just like the NES classic Paperboy (probably dating myself really bad saying the NES was the first system I ever owned). Except instead of delivering papers, you're the local weed-salesman. You play as either Nathan Williams or Stephen Pope (on a bike or a skateboard, natch) as an increasingly bizarre array of aliens and monsters and the police try to stop you from delivering your stash all to ridiculously awesome 16 bit tune versions of Wavves music. By the game's end (oh yeah, we beat the whole game), you're throwing meth into the mouth of the Weed Demon in order to survive. Way to spoil the ending of Breaking Bad for us, Wavves!

Check out some Baeble footage of Wavves performing in the now defunct Market Hotel in Bushwick. Antique!
