There is just something so wrong with a bunch of seemingly pubescent Japanese girls dressed up like dolls singing Gimme Chocolate backed by a metal band dressed like ghouls.
Who is the audience here? Pervy old metal guys? Teen girls obsessed with Anime?
It's kinda like watching a terrible accident happen, you can't stop watching though your rational mind says "Turn Away This Is TOO MUCH, there is going to be blood spurting from somewhere soon."
The group had their US television debut on the Stephen Colbert show the other night and instead of just being another forgettable late night performance tons of people are tuning in on YouTube to watch the train wreck. Over a million plays in the first day and its now clocking in at 25,000 plays per hour.
Comments on YouTube are typically colorful:
"Holy shit that was unexpectedly awesome!"
"What the actual fuck am I watching?"
"i don't get it"
"They should be playing next years Super Bowl."
"Oh god no. OH GOD NO."
"GARBAGE IS GARBAGE EVEN IF YOU HAVE SOME PRETTY TEENS IN IT IT'S STILL GARBAGE!"
"for real it's not metal but who gives a shit it's entertaining"
"I have diabetes and just gave me a Sugar Rush and now I'm dead but it's okay I see the great Hello Kitty in the sky and then I realized I paid all these dances assistance they look clone and I gave them 5 grand to put down their Heritage LOL"
Another gem from their album - Karate
Long Live Baby Metal - We cant stop laughing.
