The Converse 'Three Artists. One Song' series has had it's highs and lows, but all of the songs thus far kind of embodied this feeling of structure-less momentum that instead of utilizing climaxes, hooks, and the usual color of a song, felt very linear and flat (no matter how exciting the components). Throw all of that out the window with the latest from Kimbra, Mark Foster (of Foster The People) and A-Trak, because their song sounds like a real SONG, and totally knocks it out of the park.
Perhaps it was the humble nature of Mark and Kimbra, or the perfect storm of creative vocalists, but this is what a true collaborative effort sounds like, with no domineering egos vying for control. This is a true 'Three Artists. One Song.'
More on the video:
Warrior" is part of Converse's ongoing Three Artists. One Song music series. Three dynamic and distinct artists, Mark Foster of the break-out band Foster The People, rising star Kimbra, and trendsetting DJ A-Trak have written, recorded and produced the new single. Directed by Daniels--the two-man directorial team who've previously infused their energetic style, humor and love of special effects to music videos for Foster the People--the video for "Warrior" takes place in a colorful alternate universe. The storyline follows our heroes Mark Foster, Kimbra and A-Trak who've been captured to be a part of the underground movement of Mexican wrestling, and ultimately break free with some great moves.
Seriously, I don't even care that this is essentially just a giant advertisement for Chucks and Journey's, it's that good.

We were lucky enough to film Mark Foster at Music Hall of Williamsburg (with his People). Check it out:
