Funeral is one of the most beloved albums of the 2000s, and album opener "Neighborhood # 1 (Tunnels)" is one of its most adored tracks. From the minute I hear the twinkling piano intro and the slight backdrop of a violin, I'm instantly put in the right mindset to devour not just that song but the entire album, and that's before the entire seven-piece arrangement begins its marvelous swell. Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun has shown some serious cover bravado by daring to craft her own stripped down version of "Tunnels." With a basic guitar background and her admittedly gorgeous vocals, she pares the song down to its essentials.
