What could easily (and correctly) be labeled as an extremely desperate attempt at holding on to fame, comes the new single from NKOTBSB. That is the New Kids on The Block / Backstreet Boys collaboration for those of you who were not preteen girls in the 90s. Although the single collaboration (and corresponding album and tour) comes from a sad, sad place, there is no denying that this supergroup delivers exactly what fans of the bands are hoping for. If you are part of the 99% of the population that hates boy-band pop, then cover your ears and find a place to hide until it is safe to rejoin a world where your only problem is Justin Bieber. Otherwise, let your fangirl senses ignite.
The song begins with a vaguely modern Jason Derulo pop sound, and continues with a chorus that is catchy enough to most likely make this track one to be circluated every 30 minutes on the radio. It's definitely a little bit creepy that we are now being swooned by men in their thirties, rather than teenagers who don't know any better (Nick Carter was the same age as Bieber when the Backstreet Boys shot to fame). Nonetheless, this song will definitely be a reigning jewel in the cheesy pop playlist of the coming months.
