May the 4th is just around the corner and I sense the force is strong as "Star Wars Day" approaches like the Millennium Falcon entering hyperdrive. For a legion of Star Wars fanatics, this splendid holiday arrives just after Lucasfilms announced the main cast for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII. Talk about perfect timing, the waiting game for the next Star Wars saga is just as nerve wracking as the Rebel Alliance discovering the Galactic Empire's blueprint for The Death Star. As a longtime Star Wars nerd, I made a tough decision to avoid exploring most internet speculation as I crave the element of surprise I once felt when I saw Episode IV: A New Hope for first time in 1995.

While my destiny of becoming a Jedi or Sith has somewhat taken a backseat, the music writer inside me can't wait to hear the upcoming scores for the next Star Wars films. Aside from mind-blowing lightsaber duels, John Williams' soundtrack enhanced each film's dramatic narrative through the commanding power of his musical composition. In celebration of May the 4th, we equipped R2D2, C-3P0, and Chewbacca for our journey as we scoured the depths of YouTube for our favorite and most obscure music covers of Star Wars. Trust us, even Yoda would approve of the videos we found.

And the greatest of them all...
