Even more so than Cults, Portland lo-fi pop auteurs
Radiation City deliberately evoke a scratchy, vinyl haze of 60s pop and soul memories. Eschewing the Motown girl groups that Cults favor, Radiation City explore the understated, tension building subtleties of bossa nova. Radiation City has a new single out in addition to
last month's "Eye of Yours"-- and the song, "Find It Of Use," is their warped and distant sound at its most evocative. There are few (if any) bands out there that sound anything like Radiation City which filter their 1960s textures through all of the intentional lo-fi grittiness of the entire post-grunge era.
