We need more refreshing artists like Nick Deutsch. In an age where doom and gloom is a sellable act, Nick is bringing the fun back to pop music. With energetic dance beats and a happy go lucky mindset, Nick is dishing out brilliant tracks that will make you smile and forget about your problems for awhile. The piano-driven music details life for a young adult, never wallowing in self-pity or ignoring the beauty of the world around him. The switch up is nice and found all over his album Crazy Ride.
Today we have the video for "Twenty Something" off the album. The infectious track is coupled with a strong visual piece showing the average life of a twenty something. Nick starts his day spending time in a cat outfit handing out cards to tourists miserably before kicking back and hanging with friends at a nice party. Most people in their twenties have a pretty bad job, but friends are how we get through it. When Nick sings, "I'm not alone in my fate/all my friends know the way/big city dreams with our degree dead/we drown our fears with loud guitars/on yoga mats and happy hour," you know exactly where he is coming from.
Check out the song below and go check out Nick at Rockwood Music Hall on Monday, June 1st at 8pm.
