It seems like a random question K.FLAY (real name Kristine Flaherty) lobs our way...though it actually sets up the perfect metaphor for how the Bay Area emcee explains her highly concentrated approach to rhyming. "That's kind of how I think about it. I'm trying to fit so many words in".

With our latest concert release, it is evident this Stanford educated (and self-professed "wordy") artist has found the perfect medium of expression in hip hop. Often hilarious, always tongue in cheek, her one woman show is an absolute joy ride of quirky observations (check out her satirical take on self-help/therapy on "CRAZYtown", or the tenacity of her flow on "Speed It Up") laced across a sonic landscape of beats, original melodic hooks, and familiar samples. Like the vacuum sealed bags she references, we think you'll want to store this concert performance from one of hip hop's most invigorating new voices away in a place (um, you could just bookmark it) where you can enjoy it over and over again.
