After a week of snippets, leaks, and music video rumors, Beyonce
finally unveiled the full track for her newest single "Who Run The World (Girls)". All of this anticipation, however, seems to have fallen flat. First of all, the entirety of the song is focused around a sample of Major Lazer's "Pon De Floor" (pause for head-on-desk break). The remaining elements then proceed to pack an equal amount of ground-breaking sonic excitement. While the song has not reached a "Which seat can I take" level of horrendous, there really is not much to it besides an underwhelming delivery of an over-promoted message in terms of Beyonce's career. The only compeititon this song could have would be if Lady Gaga put out a single entitled "Hey Guys, I'm A Little Weird" to the tune of "Like A Prayer".
I also don't want to alarm anyone, but this song's creation was assisted by The-Dream, who is the nice man responsible for that Kim Kardashian single we're all still hoping to forget. We suggest you avoid your local dive bar that has been lost in its trendy club dreams, because this is sure to be its spring anthem for the coming months. check out full version of Beyonce's new single "Who Run The World (Girls)" below.
