Kendrick Lamar - "LOVE. (ft. Zacari)"
This is the one "pop" song on Kendrick's new album, DAMN.
Zacari's vocals are gorgeous and bright, which gives a bit of freshness to the album. While this song may seem out of place in comparison to the other songs on the album, it is one of my favorites.
Dillon Francis - "Without You"
I used to listen to this banger in college all the time and now that I get to see Dillon perform at Coachella I'm bringing it back. I don't think I'll get over this staple.
Radiohead - "High and Dry"
Do I even need an explanation for this gorgeous classic? I mean, it's Radiohead. I'm also seeing them at Coachella and I think my heart will explode just thinking about it.
Sampha - "Incomplete Kisses"
Sampha is one of the most anticipated acts at Coachella for me personally. I've been dying to see him live ever since he dropped his debut LP Process
so it's finally happening. This twinkly, pretty little song always perks me up.
Cookies - "Go Back"
Yeah, yeah, this band broke up a few years ago, but it doesn't mean I'll ever stop listening to the one and only album they ever dropped, Music For Touching.
This song played in a thrift store yesterday and it reminded me of how much I love it.
Arkells - "Knocking at the Door"
Arkells just released this song and I'm pretty excited to hear it live this weekend. It's filled with angsty energy that gets the listener riled up. Also check out their Do's and Don'ts for Coachella here
Raury - "Crystal Express"
Atlanta-native, Raury, released his debut album, All We Need
back in 2015 but I just recently got introduced to him and there's something super unique about his sound. "Crystal Express" is a lively feel-good track about empowerment and lifting each other up. It'll bring some good vibes to your Friday.
Tom Misch "Watch Me Dance"
Tom Misch is one of those artists that always pops in my head when I'm looking for some chilled out tunes. Misch's music is dreamy, soulful, and deeply melodic and you would never believe he's only 21-years-old when you hear his warm vocals. And if you need something therapeutic on this busy Friday, watch the video for "Watch Me Dance."
NoMBe - "Wait"
This was one of my most exciting discoveries of the week. I hadn't heard about NoMBe before this song popped up on my Spotify but, whoa. NoMBe's genre-defying sound has totally hooked me and "Wait" is a sultry track that offers some disco, soul and some drawn-out silky smooth guitar lines.
