1. Elle King skipped her wedding for an Eagles of Death Metal concert.
Yep, it's true. But let's rewind for a second. On February 6th, 2016, Andrew "Fergie" Ferguson proposed to singer Elle King on a boat under the Golden Gate Bridge. Aw, that's so cute, I'm not jealous at all. *Starts crying.*
However, King hinted that there might be trouble in paradise just last month, when she posted a photo on Instagram with some gal pals with the caption, "all my single ladies." Would a happily engaged woman really say "all my single ladies"?! Seems a little inappropro to me.
Now just last week, on the day that her wedding should have
taken place, she posted a photo of her and a friend at an Eagles of Death Metal concert with the caption, "Just a couple'a gals on a Rock&Roll tour." She also posted a video saying "Skipped out on my wedding. I married Rock&Roll instead so I hopped on tour with EAGLES OF F--KING DEATH METAL," below.
Everyone is questioning if the wedding is still on or not, but honestly, I get it. I know that if Father John Misty was playing a show in town the day of my wedding, I'd put on my running shoes and leave the altar so fast. Sorry, honey!
2. Drake did not knock anyone up.
Drake has gotten into a lot of drama lately. He claimed that he was racially profiled at a Coachella country club last weekend
, some rando tried stealing all of his soda or something
, and now a different rando is trying to claim that Drake knocked her up. Except now we're finding out that it may have all just been a lie.
Instagram model (eye roll) Layla Lace claimed that Drake knocked her up and then stopped calling. Ouch. She announced that she was preggo via Instagram, except it was not like Beyonce's perfect portrait, where she was covered in flowers and wearing the most perfect dress while bathing in a garden. Instead, it was a series of negative posts: a rant about how much Drake sucks for ghosting, some pregnancy tests, and some text screenshots. It was a much more, uh, cynical
pregnancy announcement to say the least.
But maybe Layla Lace should consider changing her name to Layla LIES
because then DJ Spade came forward and called bullshit on her ass, exposing a convo between the two:
But now people are saying that DJ Spade's post is fake, too? I can't keep up. But now Layla's Instagram is on private and let's just say it's probably for the best.
3. Harry Styles is happy that Taylor Swift wrote a bunch of songs about him.
Harry Styles' face is plastered on this month's Rolling Stone
cover and of course with a cover, comes a story. You know that Rolling Stone had to ask about Taylor Swift
, but what was surprising was Styles' wildly positive reaction. When talking about the infamous Central Park paparazzi shoot, Styles said he just wanted to be normal, "When I see photos from that day. I think: Relationships are hard, at any age. And adding in that you don't really understand exactly how it works when you're 18, trying to navigate all that stuff didn't make it easier. I mean, you're a little bit awkward to begin with. You're on a date with someone you really like. It should be that simple, right? It was a learning experience for sure. But at the heart of it - I just wanted it to be a normal date."
Then when it came to the songs that Swift most likely wrote about him, "Style" and "Out of the Woods," he went on to say only nice things, "I don't know if they're about me or not ... but the issue is, she's so good, they're bloody everywhere. I write from my experiences; everyone does that. I'm lucky if everything [we went through] helped create those songs. That's what hits your heart. That's the stuff that's hardest to say, and it's the stuff I talk least about. That's the part that's about the two people. I'm never going to tell anybody everything. ...They're great songs It's the most amazing unspoken dialogue ever."
And he continued, "I don't know. Certain things don't work out. There's a lot of things that can be right, and it's still wrong. In writing songs about stuff like that, I like tipping a hat to the time together. You're celebrating the fact it was powerful and made you feel something, rather than 'this didn't work out, and that's bad.' And if you run into that person, maybe it's awkward, maybe you have to get drunk ... but you shared something. Meeting someone new, sharing those experiences, it's the best shit ever. So thank you."
I'm sure that immediately after Harry and Taylor broke up, Harry had to sign some sort of contract that made him promise to never speak poorly of TayTay, or else she'd play victim and passive aggressively call him out during her next round of Grammy acceptance speeches. He was probably sweating while saying all of that because lies make him nervous. Or maybe he would have said something negative when he was a mere member of a boy band. Maybe now that he's a "real" artist who understands the process of creating and writing, he can actually understand her point of view. Whatever it is, we're proud of him for not talkin' shit and being better than ZAYN.
