The Wilderness of Manitoba Engulf a Retro Basement with 'Yellow Yard'

There are few settings I'd find more appropriate for indulging in a live performance by The Wilderness Of Manitoba than a warm, wood-paneled basement. Last week, the Toronto-based, rustic folk group released their new, raw recorded and slightly transitional EP entitled The Leslieville Sessions, and we were thrilled when asked to host the premiere of its "Yellow Yard" live video.

"Yellow Yard" was written by vocalist/violinist Amanda Balsys whose siren-like charm lures you in to her placid, waltzy duet with Will Whitwham.

The Leslieville Sessions certainly show us an evolved Wilderness Of Manitoba, as it features a hefty amount of dual vocals between Whitwham and Balsys, and songs like "A Year In Its Passing" even possessing a smoky 70s rock feel. But it's a refreshing progression we've come to welcome.

The Leslieville Sessions EP is out now.
