New Music Video: The Shins

Port Morrow has been out for about a month now, and The Shins have released yet another music video off one of the album's several stand-out singles. After the very Wes Anderson-y exploits of "Simple Song," James Mercer and crew decided to go in a very different (but no less amazing) direction with "The Rifle's Spiral." With stop-motion animation and art direction reminiscent of the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Coraline, the video for "The Rifle's Spiral" features a bleak and disturbing tale of magic, a creepy little girl, and even freakier men in top hats. Our words can't really do its bizarreness justice so go ahead and check out our pick for another early contender for music video of the year.

Check it out now (it's only up for 24 hours).
