We're at the midpoint of the week and even though it's been several days now since the creepy/awesome/offensive/absurd/ridiculously expensive (over $100K if the news is to be believed) 2Pac hologram rocked the desert at Coachella. However, it's left enough of a cultural imprint in our minds that even George Lucas has decided to jump on the Tupac bandwagon. In what will likely be the fiftieth (but by no means the last) reissue/remastering of the Star Wars franchise. Much like he replaced all of the guns in E.T. with walkie-talkies, Lucas is going back and replacing all of Carrie Fisher's scenes as Leia with holographic images of 2Pac performing. We imagine the scene where Luke and Leia kiss will no be even more awkward. Check out this short teaser from the new version of the film.
(Before the Star Wars fanboys/the LucasArts legal department starts to breathe down our necks, everything above was a joke.)
