Samantha Savage and her daring group of volunteers are as brave as they come. In this premiere of the Canadian up and comer's video for "The Score", she and her mates are put through a song long barrage of culinary delights, all whizzing through the air and splatting their subjects in a sloppy, slo-mo kind of glory. Things get a little more interesting towards the end of the video...there's a lot more to worry about than just a few food stains, but you'll have to watch the video to see what we're talking about.
If you don't know much about Samantha, it's because she's a little bit of a newbie below the border. In her homeland, she's a rising new talent with critics fawning over her latest album, Tough Cookie. The Calgary Herald went so far as to declare the record "the finest, most honest and absorbing releases you'll hear this or any other year". Not too shabby. As for what we've heard, "The Score" will trip you in its' melodic trap. There is a classic, Ronnettes-style drum beat bouncing along, all while "la la las" galore flutter around Smith's light and loopy vocals. Pick up a copy of The Score to hear more, now available via Wester Famine / Arts & Crafts distro.
