Guess what time it is: FESTIVAL SEASON. So right on time, we're here with our annual festival advice. We even got a little help from Canadian indie rockers Arkells
and had them share their ultimate do's and don'ts - for both festival attendees and
performers. Right in time for Coachella, let the band tell you what you should and shouldn't do. Seriously, with tips like "don't tire yourself out" and "research the lineup," you're definitely going to want to take note. Also, we can honestly say that Arkells are THE
funnest show to see live, so they definitely know a thing or two about owning the festival grounds.
Bring your friends. When you're a touring band, you often miss out on things going on at home. But when festival season comes and you're mostly playing on weekends, it's a great chance to plan a trip with your pals around the festivals. For Coachella we have our girlfriends and wives and pals coming to SoCal for a hang in the dessert.
Tire yourself out the first day. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Bring baseball gloves - sometimes there's a lot of waiting around at festivals. Bring your baseball gloves and chuck around a ball in the parking lot.
Stress yourself out by trying to get to every damn event. Let the festival experience come to you.
Release a banging new single before the festival. We just did this. It's called "Knocking At The Door
Be a moody maniac. Every group of friends usually has one wild card that can turn into an asshole depending on their extra curricular activities. Know your limits!
Research the line up. I often discover a band 3 months after we played a festival with them. Do your homework first so you can see them live.
