MP3: Letterist

Most of the 80s New Wave revival music that is hogging the airwaves at the moment wears its 80s influences in a "wink and nod" manner. You know these guys grew up listening to Duran Duran or A Flock of Seagulls, but they try and hide it with some modern technical flourishes. Brooklyn electropop outfit Letterist leave all modern pretensions at the door for a track that would have been right at home on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. You could strap on your shoulderpad suits, your manila colored Tubbs and Crockett jackets, and line up with some Colombian gold as you party the night away to their song, "100 MPH," which is unvarnished nostalgic fun.
