The National Show Optimism in New Single

For a little while now, The National have been on a tear. First they showcased three new songs at one of their live shows. Next, they dropped "Demons", the first single from upcoming album Trouble Will Find Me. Now, expectations and hype should grow to monstrous heights, considering we have yet another track from them to enjoy. Matt Berninger has always possessed a unique baritone, and on "Don't Swallow the Cap" he siphons some incredible melodies through it. There's an unfamiliar optimism in the pulsating violin, giving us a first ever illusion of a smiling Berninger on the other side of the mic. Restraint envelopes the vocals with a cloudy, gentle fog. It's nothing short of incredible.
