British songbird Laura Marling
premiered a new song, "Once," on the BBC 6 Music Tenth Anniversary Celebration
and for all fans of her place in the booming British folk scene, it is a hopeful sign that her fourth studio album may soon be under way. She's as forlorn and waifish as ever, and her gorgeous voice perfectly matches the mature themes and lyrics that belie her young age and almost childish looks (she's nearly a dead-ringer for Dakota Fanning). Perhaps her break-up with Marcus Mumford (of Mumford and Sons) has added even more weight to the world-weary music of this British folkster.
Also, check out our video with Laura Marling at the Guest Apartment last summer where she wowed us in person with her subtle delivery.
