Britpop is making its biggest resurgence since the hey-day of the beefs between Blur and Oasis. Coldplay calls themselves a rock band but they make beautiful pop music almost exclusively, and other British acts like Arctic Monkeys and Razorlight continue to shoulder the post-Britpop mantle. At this year's SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Baeble will be featuring another band from across the pond, Morning Pardade
, who have been creating quite a buzz for themselves in their native England. Their debut self-titled album will be released 6/19 in the States (though it's already out in the U.K.), but there are several videos floating around to help get you excited for this band's set at SXSW.
Fronted by vocalist Steven Sparrow (there will be no distant cousin of Pirates of the Caribbean
character jokes [Ed. Note: Except that one?
]), Morning Parade makes the sort of instantly danceable anthemic British pop that hasn't been in vogue for a decade but it will make you wonder why it went away in the first place. We're jealous that our British cousins have access to the whole album because the singles we've managed to get our hands on point to big things in this band's future as well a knack for making memorable music videos. More please!
