Stream: Slam Donahue

The great thing about cheap, low fidelity recording is that it produces bands like Slam Donahue. The new Brooklyn trio has a knack for making pop songs, but doesn't polish all of the charm out of the music. Their tracks are comprised of David Otto's falsetto, distorted harmonies, Thomas Sommerville funky bass and Keenan Mitchell's crunchy dance beats. It's a combination that will be the perfect soundtrack for this summer, when you're dancing pantsless in a kiddy pool filled with frozen daiquiris.

Slam Dohanue has given a little taste of what to expect with their new track "No More Talking." The track wastes no time getting started, as it only lasts two short minutes, and covers a lot of space. It could be called simple dance music, but it's clear that the trio has some serious musical proficiency underneath the surface. Slam Donahue recently signed to Cantora Records, where they're label-mates with MGMT, and they're set to release a new seven song album this week, titled Big House Nice Dreams.

Big House Nice Dreams Tracklist:
01. Its Scary
02. No More Talking
03. How To Be Cool
04. Con Song
05. Where Are You
