This spring, our favorite gentry rockers Mumford and Sons are mixing with the underclass. Along with Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, and Old Crow Medicine Show, they'll be touring the countryside exclusively in vintage rail-cars, making stops in the American Southwest for about a week's worth of outdoor events (six to be exact).

To misquote the great Woody Guthrie, this train is bound for disgrace. Glorious disgrace. Woody rode with his fellow drifters around North America; we get to do it with a bunch of other musicians, although not strangers, from different corners of the world. A dream come true to be on tour with them, a privilege we get to do it on a train (one of Britain's greatest inventions by the way). - Winston Marshall (of Mumford)

The bands will travel, eat and sleep in vintage railcars from the 1950s and 60s. Whether or not they will be on appropriate 1960s levels of acid while doing so remains left out of the press materials (but will hopefully make the documentary).

The appropriately named 'Railroad Revival Tour' begins 4/21 in Oakland, California. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9AM exclusively at the official website.
