Its not that they're overlooked
not at all actually. Its just, something deep down inside says the
Polyvinyl Record Co. just doesnt receive the full credit they deserve sometimes. Rarely, does their name crop up in relation to other elite, independent labels. I know I know
this is all sounding a compliment of the backhanded variety. Believe me, it is anything but. We love Polyvinyl. They gave us classic artists in
Aloha,
AM/FM,
Braid,
Joan of Arc,
Of Montreal,
Rainer Maria
we could go on and on.
So what does the future of such an acclaimed company have in store? Find out for yourself Friday March 14th in Austin, as Polyvinyl hosts a sort of state of the label kind of showcase at
Habana Calle 6. Teaming up with Saddle Creek imprint
Team Love, the two labels will command a pair stages at SXSW. Frothing over with delirious amounts of rock from the likes of
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Joan of Arc, Aloha, David Dondero, Headlights, and
Tilly and the Wall, this showcase is sure to be one big, Texas winner!
