The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach
has shared some details on his second solo album, Waiting On A Song
, and it'll be out on June 2nd. The Nashville-based musician has shared the album's first single, "Shine On Me," that comes with a half-animated video where Auerbach travels to space to participate in a demolition derby against a bunch of animals.
Its a lighthearted, sunny clip where Auerbach gets abducted by aliens to compete in an intergalactic demo derby, ultimately taking first place and becoming a superstar. The rocker appears on The Midnight Show
, where he reunites with his derby contenders - a frog, an alien, and a dog - and they all take the stage to perform together. The rhythm guitar in "Shine On Me" is the work of Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler.
Auerbach previously mentioned Waiting On A Song
will be "a love letter to Nashville", where Ohio-native has lived from 2010. Waiting On A Song
was created with many prominent Nashville musicians like country legend John Prine as well as Duane Eddy, Jerry Douglas, Pat McLaughlin, Memphis Boys' Bobby Wood and Gene Chrisman.
