Iconic country-music magnate and noted bud-enthusiast Willie Nelson
may be 78, but the man is still touring like it's '68 (with a sh*t-ton of weed). When caught with six ounces of that sticky green stuff in his tour bus, Nelson was staring down a $2000 fine and 180 dollars in jail. Luckily, the prosecutor happened to be a fan; Nelson has avoided jail time in Texas in lieu of a $100 fine and performing the tune "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" at the courthouse where he was sentenced. Famous people get all the perks.
Texas prosecutor Kit Bramblett has agreed, however, to instead make Nelsons punishment a $100 fine and a performance with his guitar. "He's got to sing 'Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain' with his guitar. You bet your ass I ain't going to be mean to Willie Nelson." [via]
The song that will keep Nelson out of jail, for context:
Of course, being famous isn't always a universal get-out-of-jail-free card. Something tells me Paris Hilton isn't going to stay out of the slammer by repeating any of her famous performances.
