Big Gigantic Wash Away 'The Little Things'

One of my great regrets in life was that I was too tired at Bonnaroo 2012 to stay up late enough to catch Colorado jazztronica outfit Big Gigantic's Thursday set. I'm not an EDM guy, but their fusion of bass-heavy dance music with live instrumentation and honest to goodness melody and craft drew me in pretty much immediately, and they became one of those bands that I started to pass along to my friends like a secret, new drug. They came to my college town when I was living back home in WV but I had to work that night and I had to miss them again. Fate seems to be keeping me from seeing Big Gigantic.

And I'd be more upset about that if their albums weren't so much damn fun. "It's Going Down" from Nocturnal is, in particular, a favorite piece of music from them. And Big Gigantic are back with new music (and an upcoming tour including two dates here in NYC at Terminal 5 on 3/11-12). The new single, "The Little Things" feat. Angela McCluskey, is more of Big Gigantic's masterful mix of funk, dance, and jazz. And although there's no announcement of a new record, we're hoping that it's on the horizon.
