With all of the attention that the story of the creation of For Emma, Forever Ago has received, it's shocking how many people forget about the other members of Just Vernon's old band, DeYarmond Edison. While the rest of the band went on to form Megafaun, Chris Porterfield stepped out on the solo project Field Report. His straightforward tunes are in the tradition of The Tallest Man on Earth (as compared to Vernon's more sonic ambitions), but that isn't exactly a criticism for people that still enjoy no-frills, emotional folk. If you're looking for emotional lyricism and rustic instrumentation, Chris Porterfield is here to take things back to basics.

Field Report will be touring with his old bandmates, Megafaun, over the next several weeks, so if you're wanting a chance to see either of these projects live, check out the tour dates below.
