  • Stream: The Flaming Lips and Bon Iver
Two weeks ago, we brought you a report that Ke$ha, Biz Markie, and the Flaming Lips were making a track together for the Lips' 2012 Record Store Day collaboration album. We now finally have a taste of one of the tracks, "Ashes to the Fire," which is the pairing of the Flaming Lips and Bon Iver. Is there such a thing as space-folk? If not, this unlikely pairing has created it.

Their song about their "robot dog" (nope, not making that up) is not the weirdest or most memorable bit of news to emerge from Wayne Coyne's bizarre universe though. Coyne has stated (though there's a possibility that he's joking but he's done weirder things) that he wants to collect the blood of everyone he collaborated on the album with to insert into the record itself because... Wayne Coyne. Here's his actual statement.

"What I'm going to try to do... and I'm collecting stuff for it as we speak, is I'm going to try to make a record that has every person's blood in the record. I don't have everybody's blood just yet, but I collected quite a few vials of blood and it's actually sitting in my refrigerator as we speak.

    Party on Wayne...
